Sunday 2nd June  (Seventh Sunday of Easter - Sunday after Ascension)  

9.30 a.m.  Sung Eucharist (Celebrant: The Ven Chris Hawthorn) followed by coffee

11.15 a.m.  Holy Communion (Traditional, with hymns) (Celebrant: The Revd Martin Doe)

 

Kathryn, our Rector, was ordained priest 25 years ago on 29th May.  

She will presiding at Wigginton on 26th May, and at Haxby on 2nd June.  Refreshments after the 9.30 a.m. service on 26th May will include cake and prosecco.   She hopes you can join in her celebrations.   The Revd Martin Doe will be preaching at Wigginton on 26th May.   

NOTICES    

Ascension Day: 30th May

There will be a celebration of Holy Communion, as usual, at 10.30 a.m. on Thursday 30th.  

There is also a Sung Eucharist at St. Mary's Haxby at 7.30 p.m.

'Bingo and Buns' is back on Saturday 1st June, at St Nicholas' Church Hall, commencing at 2.00 p.m.

Friday 31st May, 7.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. at York Central Methodist Church, St Saviourgate, YO1 8NQ

Prayer Event in Haxby and Wigginton  

Saturday 8th June, 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon outside St Mary's Church, Haxby.  Prayer stations/ Prayer spaces

Call to Celebrate!  gathering the whole church in York at the Pentecost Beacon Event

Sunday 9th June, 7.00 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. at York Minster   

Cuppa & Cake - our monthly get-together is on Wednesday 5th June, 9.30 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. in the church hall

The speaker at both services on 9th June will be Mr James Greig, the North East Regional Manager for the Leprosy Mission (a charity we support through our annual Mission Giving).

'Longer tables, lower fences': Friday 21st June, 6.30 p.m. to 8.00 p.m.   Haxby and Wigginton Methodist Church is inviting members of the community to share an informal meal in the Methodist Church Hall on Friday 21st June.   Everyone is asked to bring some food to celebrate their origins (eg Welsh cakes, Yorkshire parkin ...)   This is an opportunity to celebrate the diversity of Haxby and Wigginton.   There is no charge for this event, but donations to the work of the Refugee Council would be gratefully received.
