Advent Adventure: 'What is the point of Christmas?'  

Come and explore at St Nicholas' Church/Hall, 7.30 p.m. on Thursdays - 31 October (hall) and 7th, 14th and 21st November (church)

Christmas Fayre: Saturday 23rd November, 11.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.  

Refreshments including light lunch, various stalls with Christmas gifts, raffles and cracker tombola.   Grand Draw tickets now available.   This is our main fundraiser so please help in any way you can.   

Pre-Advent Lunch: Friday 29th November, 12.30 p.m. at St Mary's Haxby Church Hall

Speaker: The Revd Stephen Griffith MBE from the charity 'Embrace the Middle East' (formerly 'Bible Lands').   St Nicholas' Church supports this charity through its Annual Mission Giving.

Advent Quiet Day:  Saturday 30th November  10.00 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. St Nicholas Church

This will be a day of quiet reflection and preparation for Advent.   Lunch is provided.

If you are unable to stay for the whole day, feel free to come along for the time you can.   It would helpful to know the numbers attending so please sign one of the sign-up sheets in either St Nicholas' or St Mary's Churches.   Thank you.

Ladies Group

Marie and the Ladies Group have received a letter thanking them for the £423.26 raised for the Tuberous Sclerosis Association.   They have also raised £217.50 for Church funds.   

Knitters wanted!  

Wool and easy patterns provided.. Size 9 (3.5mm) needles needed.   Please can you knit some Christmas Tree angels for December 8th?   We need lots!   For more information please contact Barbara or Patrick.
