St Mary's Haxby Autumn Concerts

Our popular Autumn Concert Season returns ...

Our plans are well under way!   We now have at least four concerts confirmed, which are:

Sunday afternoons at St Mary's Haxby, commencing at 2.30 p.m.

  • 13 October - Dave Clegg Trio –  with vocals, saxophone and guitar they describe themselves as playing live music from the Sea Lounge of the world’s most prestigious cruise ships. Before he retired, Dave Clegg was musical director for bands on cruise ships for many years.
  • 20 October - Ian Evans - details to be advised.
  • 3 November – John Mackenzie and Paul Spark playing guitar and mandolin make a welcome return introducing and performing a wide range of music drawn from the music of three centuries.
  • 17 November – Rosalind Grice and her flute ensemble Flauti Felici. The York Flute Quartet made their debut at Haxby last year and will once again be performing an unusually wide repertoire to suit all tastes.
  • 24 November – Yorkshire Wolds Versatile Brass - a “compact” (5-piece) brass ensemble with the prime objective of providing first-class musical entertainment to local communities in local venues. Members of the ensemble have played with some of the top brass bands in the UK and are established soloists in their own right. Their music ranges through classical, jazz, popular, rock, etc.

Further details will be added later ...
