2.  The annual Memorial Service is on Sunday 11th June at 6.30 pm at St Mary’s.  Invitations have been sent to bereaved families, but all are welcome to come to this service.

3.  The Confirmation Service will take place at St Mary’s on Tuesday 20th June at 7.30 pm, with Archbishop Sentamu.  Please remember the candidates in your prayers.

4.  Some beautiful silk flowers will be available for sale after the 10.15 am service on 28th May.  There are only about four or five items, costing up to £10 each, so please come prepared to buy.  All proceeds to St Mary’s.

5.  St Mary’s Summer Fair – a major fundraiser this year – is on Saturday 1st July (10.00 am – 12.30 pm).  Please put it in your diary and let people know about it.  There will be stalls including cakes, cards, books/bric-a-brac, plants, tombola, children’s activities and refreshments.  We need help to make this a success.  If you can make cakes or preserves, there is a list in church to volunteer your services.  Help will also be needed to set up and clear away, serve refreshments and donate items to sell or prizes – there will be another list for these in church soon.  For more details please contact Ian Strong ( or 769771) or any member of the Events Group.

6.  The first sermon in the series ‘Being Disciples, Essentials of the Christian Life’ will be given by Ian Evans at Evensong today.  The series is based on the book by Rowan Williams
